My husband had listened to an NPR show on RA and antibiotics. He sent me to www.peoplespharmacy.com to look into this further.
I was excited to find another natural health community that looked very active and appeared to have lots of helpful information.
I signed up for their mailing list.
Day 1: I receive an email which included a link to an article regarding skin care.
They made reference to using “Udderly Smooth”. I commented that I had stopped using that due to the ingredients now being unhealthy and suggested instead that people should use coconut oil. My comment was never approved.
Another woman posted she was disappointed they declined to post her comment regarding the bad ingredients in Udderly Smooth as well.
They approved that comment and stated:
People’s Pharmacy response: Redex Industries is investigating a way to make their well priced, effective cream without parabens. We specifically list the ingredients in the product so that customers can make their own choices about skincare products. We also appreciate the fact that Redex Industries has been a loyal supporter of The People’s Pharmacy radio show for years.
I replied to her comment that I was also disappointed that my comment had also not been approved as well and it wasnt a very good first experience with their website.
My comment was again..declined
I came to find they are not only sponsored by Redex but also sell Udderly Smooth in their store on the website so plug it whenever possible.
Uderly Smooth ingredients used to be:Allantoin, Dimethicone, lanolin oil, and Propylene Glycol in an Emollenient base
Not so bad..and it was sooo creamy
Now they are:Deionized water, Stearic Acid, Peg 2 Stearate, propylene glycol, isopropyl myristate, dimethicone, lanolin oil, mineral oil, triathanolamine, allantoin, methylparaben, propylparaben, fragrance
It is a watery mess now…and look at all that extra bad for you crap!
With so many natural solutions for skin care there is no reason to be putting this crap into your skin..your largest organ. !
Buy tons of organic coconut oil. Cook with it, use it as a moisturizer, make tooth paste, use it as a lip balm, put it on your zits, cuts, bug bites..
It really does everything and it is good for you and smells yummy. I keep one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen.
In closing I find it pretty sad that People’s Pharmacy censors their audience to protect sponsors selling an unnatural, unhealthy product all the while attacking other products for their unhealthy ingredients. They seem to need to get their priorities in check. They have an audience that trusts them and will buy their products believing they are good for them. They won’t question the ingredients because they sadly have faith in PP.
Shame on you People’s Pharmacy.
Found on their website:
Joe and Terry are guided by these values in all their work:
- Respect for people’s ability to make informed decisions about their health
- Honesty and integrity in communication and actions
- Care, compassion and fairness as the guiding principles for all institutions serving people
What a joke!
